【Tutorial & Setting up】30MH Gridseed A2 Terminator 30MH Litecoin Miner 28nm Gridseed G-Box for Scrypt Mining 30MH Asic Scrypt Miner

{UPDATE}

Check our official site for the newest bitcoin miner, the most updated tutorial and amazing support! :-)

{Before Start}

  • Connect the miner to the router by internet cord.
  • The default IP of the miner is “192.168.1.xx”, so, plz make sure the IP your router is "192.168.1.xx" too(eg. 192.168.1.1).
  • For miner configuration, plz use the ethernet cord to connect the miner to the same router which your PC also connected. (Your PC is just needed for miner configuration)

{MINING GUIDE}

  • Connect the miner to the router by internet cord.
  • Check out the default IP of the miner. Abount the default IP of the miner, plz see the section {Default IP} below.
  • Power on the miner.
  • Open configuration page: Open IE --> input the default IP in the address bar. (eg. the default ip of the miner is “105”, then input “192.168.1.105”. plz make sure the IP of your router is “192.168.1.xx” too.).
  • If IE can’t open the address you inputed, plz just try a few more times. (sometimes, the miner need about 10~30s to connect itself to the router)
  • change the configure of the miner on the configuration page. For the configuration option, see section {Configuration Page} below.
  • save the change and then power off the miner.
  • power on again.
  • just wait for about 1 minute, and the mining will start automatically.
  • You can see the mining status on the configuration page.

{Default IP}

Every miner has a default IP: 192.168.1.xx. The number “xx” is marked on the miner.

As the picture showing, the “xx” of this miner is “104”, so the default IP address of the miner is: “192.168.1.104”.

But sometimes, the factory may change the ip of the miner(However, this situation occurs only occasionally). So you may can not connect to the miner use the default ip, in that case, plz just download the software “Advanced IP Scanner” to scan the ip. (download here: http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/)

{How to use the ip scanning software}

  1. Make sure your network, including ip of your router, your PC, all all in the ip section 192.168.1.xx
  2. Connect the miner to the router;
  3. Power on the miner.
  4. Open the ip scanning software, following pictures showing how to scan all the ip in the section “192.168.1.1” ~ ”192.168.1.255”
  5. Then you can find out the ip of the miner.

{Configuration Page}

The following picture showing the configuration page:

{NOTE}

  • Don't change the "NETWORK SETTING" if the default network setting is working for you (or you 100% know what you are doing), it's no need to change your network setting as the same as the picture showing. If you changed anyting, please remember what you have changed.
  • After you changed any of the network setting option, please click the button "NETWORK SETTING CONFIRM". Then wait a minute for the network setting be valid. Then power off the miner, and power on it again; This time, plz input the IP address you changed(if you don’t change the option “IP ADDRESS”, just input the original ip) in the address bar and enter configuration page again.
  • After you changed the mining setting(POOL 1 ADDR, POOL 1 ID, POOL 1 PWD etc.), plz click the circle after “CGMINER START” and then click the button “CGMINER SETTING CONFIRM”. And then the mining will start. The status will be like the following picture showing.
  • If the mining does not start(or the mining doesn't start automatically after power on), plz try to click:  circle after “CGMINER STOP” → button “CGMINER SETTING CONFIRM” → circle after “CGMINER START” → button “CGMINER SETTING CONFIRM”
  • If one of the pool setting is empty (not set), plz just keep it as ‘/’ (default invalid pool address and etc.)
  • Click on the bottom button “REFRESH”, check the mining berif status. It will be showing like the picture below:

  • For realtime mining status, plz click “REALTIME STATUS MONITOR”, the realtime mining status showing like this:

{firmware upgrade}

It is not recommended to upgrade the firmware if your miner is working greeat. Do not updrade the firmware if your miner working great.

  1. Download the wiiBox firmware(for A2) here: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1pJ3AI1d?qq-pf-to=pcqq.c2c
  2. And the software for firmware upgrad Win32DiskImager here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
  3. Take out the SD card of the miner and insert it to a SD card reader.
  4. Insert the SD card reader (with SD card) to the USB port of your computer.
  5. And then upgrade the SD card to the wiiBox system:

{After upgrade}
    • Please try to scan the ip of the miner. (see section {How to use the ip scanning software} above for how to scan the ip)

    {Trouble List}

    We are very sorry for the trouble you got, the miner industry is a new industry, so the products are not so perfect sometimes.
    Anyway, if you got any troubles, please try to check:
    • Check all cables inside the miner, see if any of the cords got loosed up during delivery. Plug tightly every cord. Especially the cords showing in the following picuture, if those cords got loosed up, then the miner maybe can't be powered on (And plz make sure the point "A" and "B" are connected by the yellow cord).

    • Try to run the miner at a lower "SPEED". Please try to set the "BOARD 1 SPEED" on the configuration page to a lower value.(If this works, the problem may caused by the heat dissipation. Please see below suggestions for how to make the miner more cooler.)
    • Configuration all correct ? plz try to reconfigure the miner.
    • Is your network environment normal ? (If the miner cann’t connect to the pool, it will stop mining and trying to reconnect to the pool). Please check the network settings, especially the setting of the router and DNS. If the DNS setting is not correct, then the Pi in the miner maybe cannot recognize it, which leasds to failure of connection to the pool. Is the miner directly connected to the router? Has any other devices occupied the IP of the miner ? To check the networking environment or change to a new networking environment is suggested.
    • Try LTC mining instead of other coins mining.
    • Does the pool you use is normal ? try to change to another pool. (for example, in the pool “wemineltc”, you’d better to connect to “Scrypt ASIC Only Servers”, this is for “25MH ASICS AND UP ONLY”, or maybe you will not receive shares)
    • Is the heat dissipation of the miner normal ? Because the miner maybe stop mining if the temperature is too high. So,  please:
      • If you several miners, please make sure put them far away from each other.
      • Open the box(and keep it opening) to make the blade inside the miner to get cooler.
      • Add more cooling device. For example, you can get some more fan to blow the blade, or put another fan on the tail of the miner to form a air way. (but please be careful with the orientation of the fan in the tail)
      • We don’t recommend you to replace the original fan of the miner to other fan. Yes, the original fan maybe a little noise, but it bring the miner a bigger air flow.
    • Check the PSU cord and signal cord in the box. Open the box, there should be 2 modules inside. Check every module see if any of the PSU cord or signal cord (especially signal cord) got loosed up during delivery. Plug tightly every cord.
    • Check the cords on the pi. Plug them tightly. And is the Pi works well ? Is the LED on the Pi still blink?
    • Check if the screws on the cooling panel(the sliver part on the modules) are tight.
    • Check the PSU:
      • Tighten the power cord on the PSU(the power cord is fixed to the PSU by a screw)
      • Change a PSU. 12V 30A 360w PSU, it should be easy to get.
    • Subsititue the mining system in the SD card. See section {firmware upgrade} for how to subsititue the mining system. Download the fireware here:  http://pan.baidu.com/s/1pJ3AI1d?qq-pf-to=pcqq.c2c
    • Switch the cords of one of the working modules and the cords of the not-working module, see if it's the cords that caused the problem.
    • Check the modules in the box. Take out the power cords and signal cords of one module, and see if the left one works normally. Do that to every module to check if every module is working well, is it one of the module is not working normally.
